Technical Recruiter

Department: Business Operations

Reports to: Operations Manager

Location: Blacksburg, Virginia

Classification: Full-Time

As the Technical Recruiter for the 32nd best company to work for in the United States according to Fortune Magazine, you eat, sleep, and dream about finding amazing candidates to fill our open technical positions. You collaborate with others to develop a strategic recruiting plan and have the opportunity to see that plan play out step by step. You work with every Software Developer, Engineer, Quality Assurance Tester, and Technical Writer within Mailtrust to source candidates and oversee all levels of the interview process.

Your responsibilities to your co-workers (the people pounding at your door) include:
  • Understanding the hiring needs of the different technical departments
  • Knowing how employees interact throughout the company
  • Being an online searching, internet posting, network building, blog reading, expert following, conference attending, industry understanding rock star
  • Utilizing sales and recruiting skills to attract and obtain the attention of good people
  • Following through on leads
  • Administering technical assessments
  • Being timely and respectful when corresponding with candidates
  • Representing Mailtrust at local recruitment fairs

Important skills and characteristics:

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Polite but not afraid to initiate conversation with others
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of email technologies and common software development and engineering skill sets
  • Six or more months of technical recruiting experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills

You have an understanding of how to build and execute a strong recruiting strategy, can quickly educate yourself on the email hosting industry, are organized, energetic, can multi-task, and know how to get your point across.
