As a Technical Project Manager at Mailtrust, you are the motor that gets our projects
to the finish line. Guiding your teams from beginning to end, you play a vital role in
all areas of project development, from initiation and planning though execution, control,
and close. Working within the project scope, you maximize the productivity of your team,
enabling them to meet project objectives and deliver truly stellar products. Along the
way, you create and execute project plans, manage changes to scope, and communicate with
stakeholders so that everyone stays informed.
A master of organization and multi-tasking, your skills extend to project management,
change management, project documentation, and operational coordination across functional
teams. You're a Technical Project Manager for the world's best company (at least, we
think so), and your leadership, experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm help us set
challenging goals and meet them.
Your responsibilities to the customers (the people who pay us the big bucks) include:
- Communicating project plans with stakeholders
- Defining awesome projects in a timely manner
- Building and keeping our customers' trust through your dedication to ethics, values, and service
Your responsibilities to your co-workers (the people pounding at your door) include:
- Working with internal teams to execute projects successfully
- Identifying and coordinating needed resources
- Creating a master plan to produce a great product
- Developing a detailed schedule so everything gets done on time
- Communicating with a Senior Project Managers, Functional Area Managers, Product Managers, and other senior leadership regarding the status of your projects
- Mentoring junior project managers
- Building strong working relationships with all departments
- Creating project charters and obtaining approvals from project sponsors
- Leading by example to infect your team with enthusiasm for our customers and our products
Important Skills and Characteristics:
- Bachelors degree in with a technical or business concentration preferred
- 3-5 years project management experience with at least 2 years of that dedicated to running technical projects required
- 2+ years of hands-on technical experience such as programming, systems administration, hardware/software, networking, or DBA experience preferred
- Experience in Agile software development methodologies
- Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification preferred
- Extreme organization skills and a degree of technical aptitude
- Excellent time management skills and experience leading cross functional teams
- Proven ability to lead projects through all stages of the project management life cycle
- Ability to meet deadlines while responding well to constant changes and resource constraints
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Great leadership skills, diplomacy, confidence, a customer-driven focus, and a positive attitude
