As a Technical Writer you have the opportunity to develop, create, update, and/or edit materials that are seen by
hundreds of thousands of people around the world. You work with people from all areas of the company on projects
that include the company website, organizational charts, tutorials, press releases, manuals, user documentation,
marketing literature, and case studies. We trust you with all of our internal and external documentation and know
that you will always make it creative, clean, and complete. The pressure is on, are you ready?

Your responsibilities to the customers (the people who pay us the big bucks) include:
- Creating clean, easy-to-read materials with an intimidation factor of zero
- Breaking down difficult concepts or functions into small, detailed steps that utilize consistent language
and give readers confidence about their ability to complete the function
Your responsibilities to your co-workers (the people pounding at your door) include:
- Working with management to create and improve upon requirement documents for current and future products and
services
- Writing all technical documents needed to support Mailtrust products and services as well as third-party
products and services that we support
- Keeping the Customer Care Department updated on the documents that are available to customers who have
questions. The more documents you create here the more they'll like you
- Streamlining. We need all of our documents to look the same and have the same feel so that customers
can't tell the difference between new and old documents. You need to be able to create documents that
follow the same basic formatting principles as previously created documents
- Reviewing existing materials and recommending revisions or changes in scope, format, or content
Important Skills and Characteristics:
- If you know Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign then you should be all set. If you know any
other program that would help you do your job better, such as Adobe Acrobat, or Adobe FrameMaker then
you'll be a step ahead
- An understanding of web technologies like HTML is a definite plus
- Being an analytical, goal driven, aggressive professional will help you succeed in this role
You're going to do just fine here if:
- You have in depth knowledge of the structure and content of the English language which allows you to write
clear, concise documents that are grammatically correct and error free
- You view the task of determining subject matter for publications and documentations as an exciting
challenge
- You are organized, can multi-task, and know how to get your point across
- You have a knack for picking up technical information and the gumption to quickly educate yourself on our
new products and services
- You are willing to work on a project-by-project basis for us because you know undoubtedly that your work is
second to none and you wholeheartedly believe that once we see that there will be nothing else for us to do but
beg you to work for us on a full-time basis
