Human Resources Coordinator

Department: Business Operations

Reports to: Human Resources Generalist

Location: Blacksburg, Virginia

Classification: Full-Time

As the Human Resources Coordinator, you love your job because you work for a company that considers its people strategy top priority. You spend your days thinking of new ways to engage our employees so that they stay focused and excited about the work that we pay them to do. You support and work closely with managers and employees on people-related issues. You enjoy working with things that are consistent and you like processes and procedures. You're instrumental in driving HR programs and initiatives across the company.

Your responsibilities to your co-workers (the people pounding at your door) include:
  • Making them feel comfortable coming to you with comments and concerns
  • Answering questions regarding basic personnel policies and procedures
  • Showing employees how much we appreciate them
  • Assisting with the coordination of training sessions to support developmental needs
  • Working with Rackspace Human Resources to implement companywide initiatives
  • Performing follow-up to ensure that paperwork is received in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assisting the Human Resources Generalist with administrative duties as needed, in the areas of wages and salary, benefits, VISA processing, safety/workers compensation, and training

Important skills and characteristics:

  • Passion for helping and supporting others
  • Able to handle high level of confidentiality and common sense regarding employee information
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good time management, organizational, and communication skills
  • 3-6 months of office human resources experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to produce large volumes of consistently accurate, high quality work
  • Ability to influence others
