Interactive Flash Designer

Status: Full-Time

As a Mailtrust Interactive Flash Designer, you work to improve the face of our company in a dynamic way. Every day you have new projects and new challenges as you plow through our website design, marketing initiatives, online campaigns, interactive demos and more! We want you to be able to introduce yourself as an Interactive Flash Design rock star when you meet us and others. Creativity and an attention to detail are paramount for this position.

Your responsibilities to the customers (the people who pay us the big bucks) include:

• Producing web-based flash designs, movies, animations, and interfaces that are easy to navigate, contain easy-to-find information, and are fully functional.
• Exploring the injection of interactivity into every facet of our creative materials.
• Working with a Marketing Director and web developers to find new and better ways of solving web and layout problems.

Your responsibilities to your co-workers (the people pounding on your door) include:

• Working with teams to build Flash websites, microsites, and rich internet applications.
• Actively participating in the conceptualization of prospective projects.
• Continually improving our corporate website.
• Integrating important details about our solutions and services quickly and efficiently.
• Helping application developers put out the best looking interfaces and products possible.
• Educating co-workers on new features and letting them know where they can find information to help our customers.

Necessary skills and important characteristics include:

• 3+ years of professional experience using Flash and Photoshop.
• An impressive online portfolio demonstrating interactive development.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; namely Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash as well as ActionScript.
• An excellent understanding of web-based video, video-streaming, and Flash video.
• Expert working knowledge of web browsers and website development technologies.
• Experience with the use of type and typeface layout and web-based graphic elements.
• Strong conceptual ability and excellent design skills.
• Excellent understanding and experience with website layout and usability design.
• Ability to handle tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Motivation to stay on the forefront of new technologies and a willingness to grow.
• A passionate curiosity about the Internet and technology trends.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, and execute tasks to meet critical project deadlines.
• An understanding of Quark, InDesign, HTML and/or CSS is a plus.
• Illustration skills are an even bigger plus.
