As the Microsoft Exchange Engineer, you will lead the design, architecture, implementation,
security and support of Mailtrust's large scale hosted Exchange messaging server environments.
With an eye on the future, you'll help us shape a vision for enhancements and future product
offerings, especially when it comes to system reliability and performance. You also lead
project teams, prepare scope documents and project plans, and design and implement best
practices for system performance, interoperability, and automated provisioning.
You're responsible for things like system structure, sizing, configuration, performance
optimization, and scaling; documentation; long-range requirements; operational guidelines;
and protection. Using your passion for and knowledge of Exchange systems, you develop internal
tools and practices for efficient and effective operations and support. A problem identifier
and solver, you evaluate the analysis of the short-term or long-term capacity needs for
messaging systems. You also provide direction for hardware/software specification and design
activities.
Your deep knowledge of Exchange systems extends to advanced Exchange messaging and
collaboration server technologies and advanced troubleshooting techniques at the server and
application level. You're well versed in high availability (HA) setups, email protocols (SMTP,
IMAP, and POP), Active Directory, DNS, Exchange centric hardware deployment, and data
communications networks. Plus, you know a lot about current Exchange operation strategies
including data recovery, performance tuning, transaction log replay, replication, and mail
flow.
Essentially, you're an Exchange whiz who knows how to help us build and maintain a great
product that will keep our customers happy.

- Keeping the system running consistently and reliably
- Identifying and solving problems at the server and application level

- Working with minimal supervision performing complex messaging-related tasks

Important skills and characteristics:
- 4+ years of related messaging experience is a must
- MCITP certification (or demonstration of the equivalent knowledge) is required
- MSCE: Messaging certification is preferred
- Ability to interpret and write complex powershell scripts
- Experience with large scale production messaging and collaboration systems
- Basic programming skills and the ability to read and understand SQL syntax
- Great leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude
- Versatile written and verbal skills and presentation abilities
